Running a marthon has been a goal I've wanted to achieve for a long time. But it either wasn't the right time in my life, or the right marathon. I am excited to be part of Team USA Endurance becasue it will be my one chance to do something like an Olympic Athlete. Tony and the boys are very supportive and meet me on my long runs to give me water and encouragement. I'm 41 years old, but my friend April told me women in their 40's are in their peak performance threshold for running a marathon, those words keep me going mentally on long runs. We are grateful to have so many wonderful and supportive friends and we hope you can help us raise some funds to support the Olympic Athletes in their training. We love being part of the US Olympic Committee because it is a great way to teach our sons about life's lessons of hard work, ambition, dreams, goals, and patriotism through sports. I hope you will support me in my own personal journey of running a marthon this fall in New York. Thanks, Cori
Team USA Endurance launched in 2013 and gets off and running with the 2013 ING New York City Marathon on Nov. 3. The U.S. Olympic Committee created this new fundraising and donor opportunity to provide fans with the opportunity to participate in a premier sports experience while generating support for U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes. In return, members receive the unique resources and guidance of USOC experts, as well as access to athletes, training plans and Team USA gear
Founded in 1894 and headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo., the U.S. Olympic Committee serves as both the National Olympic Committee and National Paralympic Committee for the United States. As such, the USOC is responsible for the training, entering and funding of U.S. teams for the Olympic, Paralympic, Youth Olympic, Pan American and Parapan American Games, while serving as a steward of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements throughout the country. The USOC is a non-profit organization that receives no government funding, and instead, relies on the donations of sponsors and donors to support Team USA. For more information, visit TeamUSA.org.
