Update #2

Last night was special as Violet was able to visit me in the hospital. She is doing well as she enters week two of absorbing her 5th round of “preventative” chemo. What a inspiring warrior she is. Her next few months will consist of multiple days a week at Children’s for labs and transfusions as needed but at this point today’s events truly represent a “Victory for Violet”. Thank you to everyone involved.
From my standpoint I’m a month into my induction chemo for Leukemia. It’s called GCLAM and is considered on the more intensive end of treatment. Currently 40-45% of my blood has cancer. When not at UW I’m at Seattle Cancer Care 7 days a week for about 7-10 hours a day thanks to my dad who picks me up daily. I’ve had 23 blood transfusions and 38 platelet transfusions. Wednesday will be bone marrow biopsy and evaluation which is big so keeping fingers crossed.
Please know that we see all the support that’s come across the “Victory for Violet” event page well as on Fundly. Although we can’t respond to each individually the support is absolutely overwhelming and our level of appreciation could not be summed up into words. More like positive tears. Weather your there tonight or holding us in your thoughts and prayers...everyone of you is recognized and has impacted V and now helps propel me so thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

More Info

Violet's been diagnosed with advanced "Diffused Large B Cell NH Lymphoma Cancer". She is currently completing Chemo treatments (5 types) over 4-5 months primarily living "in patient" at Children's Hospital Leukemia/Lymphoma unit in Seattle Wa. At 10 years old (birthday coming up May 20th) "V" lives in Kenmore WA and is currently on extended leave from 5th grade Elementary. She enjoys her friends, basketball, softball, making slime and playing golf for Inglewood Golf Clubs PGA JR League. "V" also likes art, singing, sparkles, unicorns, princesses and kicking cancers a**.

...Unfortunately.....as a new twist, her stepfather Ryan Dwyer has been diagnosed with AML/Leukemia and has started his own 5-6 month battle against this coward of a disease. Like V, Ryan has started 5 types chemo over 4-6 months and will also take part in experimental chemo testing through the University. When not in patient at U of W Oncology/Leukemia unit, he will tackle daily labs, platelets and blood transfusions at the guiding hands of Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.

Overwhelming community support combined with gracious requests on how to contribute has led to creating this page. There is no target fundraising goal as anything is greatly appreciated so set at minimum level $11.

Upon withdrawal of donations, all monies will be deposited into an account established in sole support and benefit of The family. Including and not limited to: necessary living improvements, related expenses, school savings, and a percentage to Cancer research.

We thank you for your positive thoughts, prayers and support. This also serves as outlet for those unable to attend Violets June 1st Fundraiser "Victory for Violet & Ryan" in Kenmore WA but still feel moved to contribute.

Update #3

Violets started round 5 of chemo and is back in-patient at Children's making strides that parallel Oncologist goals for treatment. What a blessing.
As she battens down the hatches on what’s hopefully her last month... Step Dad Ryan is recently diagnosed with AML Leukemia and has started a whole new battle as well. Oddly, following a similar treatment path as V.
This daddy daughter team has been double smacked by cancer but will fight back twice as hard. Ryan couldn’t have a better or more experienced wing-woman than his daughter. She’s proven cancer is no match for the family. Please keep continued thoughts and prayers for V, Ryan Alexis and the entire family.
